G20 foreign ministers to meet in New Delhi in March

New Delhi: The foreign ministers of G20 countries are scheduled to meet in New Delhi in March 2023,as the sources confirmed. Currently, India is presiding the G20 since December 2022. The 43 heads of delegations will participate in the final New Delhi Summit in September the following year. The specially invited guest countries are Bangladesh, Egypt, Netherlands, Mauritius, Nigeria, Oman, Spain, Singapore and UAE.

New Delhi: The foreign ministers of G20 countries are scheduled to meet in New Delhi in March 2023, as the sources confirmed. Currently, India has been presiding over the G20 since December 2022. The 43 heads of delegations will participate in the final New Delhi Summit in September of the following year. The specially invited guest countries are Bangladesh, Egypt, Netherlands, Mauritius, Nigeria, Oman, Spain, Singapore and UAE. 

Arindam Bagchi, the spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs(MEA), noted that India would host G20 foreign ministers meeting; however, the dates or location of the meeting has not been finalized as of now. “There is a G20 calendar that we announce as we go along. Yes, there will be foreign ministers meeting. 

We will host G20 foreign ministers meeting as is customary. I think it will be in Delhi, that’s the plan. Let’s lock it in and we will announce (other details) when it is appropriate”, stated Bagchi.

Revolving around the G20 Presidency theme- Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, meaning One Earth, One Family, One Future, PM’s vision of an all-government approach, India will be hosting over 200 meetings in over 50 cities and across 32 varied workstreams. 

As MEA added, India has the opportunity to offer the delegates and guests with its rich cultural heritage, thereby providing them with a unique Indian experience. Earlier, the MEA said that Presidency is also a chance for the secretariat to provide the citizens with a unique opportunity to be a part of India’s G20 story. 

The Indian G20 Presidency extends from 1 December 2022 to 30 November 2023. Therefore, India has also planned a year-long Indian Experience for the member countries and other special guests.
