Tbilisi, Georgia: A workshop for university students was held at the initiative of the Georgian Competition and Consumer Agency (GCCA). The workshop was held on May 14, 2025, Wednesday. It was organized in collaboration with the National University of Georgia (SEU).
The Georgian competition and Consumer Protection Agency shared the glimpses of the meeting on its official Facebook page, The GCCA also shared a small note about the informational meeting along with its glimpses.
Notably, the information meeting was held in an interactive mode. In the meeting, the participants had the opportunity to receive comprehensive information from agency staff about consumer rights protection mechanisms.
Goal of the meeting
The goal of the discussion was to increase public awareness and encourage informed decision-making among consumers. Key topics covered included the protection of consumer rights in both physical and online marketplaces. It also includes practical measures for asserting these rights, and the appropriate procedures for reporting and addressing violations.
However, the meeting was led by the Head of GCCA Educational Research Center, Mariam Shaishmelashvili, the Dean of SEU Faculty of Law, Tea Jughel, and GCCA Consumer Rights Protection Department representative, Oliko Kobakhidze.
Furthermore, the University meetings in Tbilisi and the regions are planned actively during the current year by the initiative of GCCA. The agency staff will review with students important decisions made in competition policy, existing challenges, and standards set in the consumer rights sector. They will do this mainly to improve their legal status.
