Georgia: The Georgian Consumer and Competition Agency (GCCA) reported that in the first eight months of 2025, a total of 838 consumer applications were registered, while incoming calls reached 2,570. The agency highlighted that the number of applications received marked a 47% increase compared to the same period in 2024.

In the accounting period, by the decision of GCCA, 98 violations of consumer group rights were confirmed in 147 cases. 50 merchants were fined for non-fulfillment of obligations imposed by GCCA, in total – 104 742 GEL.
For the benefit of consumers, in 115 conditional liability cases, 106 agreements have been signed, which means traders have undertaken to change the internal policy of the business and restore the rights of users who are likely harmed by their trading policies.
In 2025, 67% of the applications received by users were related to online trading, and 33% were related to the purchase of the item on the spot. According to regions, Tbilisi is leading with 79%, then Adjara 5%, Imereti 4%, Kakheti 3%, Lower Kartli 2% and other regions.
According to eight-month data, according to customer applications to the agency, there were 286 for refund requests, 262 for repair or replacement of defective items, 138 for restoration of rights during defective service, 57 for prohibition of erroneous activity, 28 for unconditional return of items, 20, and 47 for others.
According to statistics, 74% was occupied by the wholesale and retail sector, transport and warehousing 10%, and other activities 16%.
