Tbilisi: The Ruling Party of Georgia Georgian Dream (GD) has announced its slogan for the October Parliamentary election. Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze made the announcement at the campaign and centre office opening event. GD’s slogan will be “towards Europe with peace, dignity, prosperity.”
PM during his address at the event said that “dignity brings peace, peace brings prosperity, and prosperity brings the country’s European future,” so this will be our slogan for the General election.
According to PM “Although the country has passed through many difficult phases, even then it was able to maintain peace for twelve years. He also added that this peaceful phase of the country requires particular attention in the future to ensure overall stability.”
Moreover PM undelined, “ No doubt the choice to elect is not east but voter has to decide what he would like to choose. Whether he needs war or wants peace. Voters have to choose between the dark past years of the country or the bright future of Georgia under the ambit of the country’s integration into the European Union.”
Kobakhidze while expressing his gratitude to the people stated, “ The Georgian Dream was able to win the eight election in the past 12 years which shows the public support it enjoys. This support is also needed to maintain peace and stability in the future so that the country can achieve success in all sectors.”
The Prime Minister highlighted the achievements of his party the Georgian Dream. Moreover the PM termed the 2012 parliamentary elections a milestone that has led Georgia towards a “democratic and economic transition.”
Kobakhidze during his address specifically mentioned Bidzina Ivanishvili and expressed his gratitude for his unwavering support and contribution. He is the founder and the Honorary Chair of the ruling Georgian Dream. According to the Prime Minister 2012 was a year of change for the country. The year changed the dimensions of Georgia’s politics in many ways and also significantly changed the political landscape.
