Kakha Kaladze, the Mayor of Tbilisi who is also the current secretary general of Georgian Dream reiterated party’s commitment to join European Union. He said nobody should use this aim as weapon to blackmail ruling party.
He made these comments at the ongoing session of Tbilisi city council today. According to him this is totally false propaganda being spread by opposition parties that Georgian Dream not serious for integration into European Union.
He underlined that, Georgian Dream agenda is very clear, we all want to integrate with Europe, however no political party should use this as weapon against the ruling party. The opposition parties have also big responsibility and should not mislead the public on this agenda.
According to Mayor this is very sad to see that member of European Unions are not serious towards Georgia. Moreover Prime Minister of Georgia already have announced very clearly that this is liability of European Union to open talk in this direction.
Mayor also took a strong exception to ongoing protest in capital city Tbilisi and other places. He blamed a deep conspiracy against all these people. He said that this was all pre-planned to organise protest rally against the Georgian Dream.
He urged opposition parties to come to table to hold further talks and said the unnecessary hate and resistance will not serve any purpose but will damage the unity, integrity of Georgia.
He said that previous internal and external conflict have already caused so much damage and we should now fix the responsibility for all of them. It is time to support the state because if state will be strong then it’s all organ and institution will be strong also. Mayor said, his party is always there for the welfare of people.
He said we are not against integration in European Union, rather we want the welfare of country. The decision to suspend talks about integration into European Union until 2028 will not affect any interest of Georgia.
