Georgia: The Deputy Minister of Environment Protection and Agriculture, Yuri Nozadze, and the Chairman of the Protected Areas Agency, Davit Iosebashvili, visited the newly constructed infrastructure and current works in Kolkheti National Park.
This year, a zip line and rock climbing wall attraction have been added to Kolkheti National Park’s diverse ecotourism services. From today, the visitor to Kolkheti National Park will have the opportunity to experience additional entertainment activities in addition to the almsgiving services.
“One of the priorities of the Agency of Protected Areas of the Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture is the development of ecotourism, within the framework of which various infrastructure projects are implemented in protected areas, existing ones are being rehabilitated, and new attractions are being added so that the visitors who come here have more opportunities to relax and get to know the local biodiversity”, – noted the Deputy Minister of Environment Protection and Agriculture, Yuri Nozadze.
The development of ecotourism in Kolkheti National Park is ongoing. Last year, 4 ecotourism cottages were arranged in the courtyard of the visitor centre, a new pier was built, the Fichor River picnic area was renovated, and the cafeteria will be completed in the near future.
The Agency of Protected Areas of the Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture continues to develop ecotourism in the protected areas of Georgia.Â
It is worth noting that this year the unique ecotourism facility of Tsalki Canyon was opened, an international standard visitor centre was opened in Pshav-Khevsureti National Park, a zip-line was organized on Martvili Canyon, a cafeteria was organized near Prometheus Cave, a trail was organized on the nature monument of Eagle Canyon with accompanying infrastructure, an international park was opened in Machakhela National Park Standard exhibition space.
