Tbilisi, Georgia: The Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Mariam Kvrivishvili, met with Asian Development Bank (ADB) Vice President Ingming Yang, who arrived to participate in the Silk Road Forum in Tbilisi, Georgia. The bank has been a supporter of the forum since its founding.
The Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia shared the glimpses of the meeting on its Official Facebook Page on Tuesday, October 21, 2025. The Georgian Ministry shared a small note about the meeting along with its glimpses.
During the meeting, both sides highlighted the significance of strengthening economic ties and investment opportunities between Georgia and ADB.
At the meeting, the parties discussed the Asian Development Bank’s ongoing and planned projects in Georgia. Including transport and logistics, energy, regional and municipal development, and other areas. Georgia’s fruitful cooperation with the mentioned financial institute in terms of the middle corridor development, including transport and logistics infrastructure, was emphasized.
The parties discussed the possible participation of the Asian Development Bank in the country’s hydropower projects, as well as more involvement in the process of updating the energy development strategy and action plan, and the cooperation with the Bank in terms of rail transport reform, as well as the development of aviation infrastructure and tourism strategy.
The meeting also emphasized the fruitful cooperation between Georgia and the Asian Development Bank in the CAREC format.
As noted by the parties, the Tbilisi Silk Road Forum is an important regional discussion platform where representatives of political and business leaders of the region’s countries discuss models of cooperation in various areas, be it transport, logistics, energy, industry, aviation, information technology, digital connections, tourism, etc.
The Deputy Ministers Tamar Ioseliani and Inga Pkhaladze attended the meeting.
