Georgia: An informational meeting was organized for media representatives on Vashlovani protected areas on May 28, 2025, Wednesday. The meeting was organized by the Agency of Protected Areas of Georgia.
Within the framework of the working meeting, the journalists received detailed information about the history, ecosystems, and natural values of Vashlovani protected areas.
The Agency of Protected Areas of Georgia shared glimpses of the informational working meeting on its official Facebook page on Wednesday. The agency also shared a small note about the meeting, along with the photographs.
According to the Agency’s note, it should be mentioned that the materials prepared as a result of the tour will be distributed through various media outlets. The general public will be introduced to the unique natural environment of Vashlovani protected areas and its importance by those media outlets.
The main purpose of organizing an info tour for journalists was to promote;
- the promotion of Georgian protected areas,
- the development of ecotourism,
- the increase in the number of visitors.
Additionally, it should also be noted that the Journalists, during their trip to Vashlovani National Park, located in the far east of Georgia, Dedoplistskaro municipality, had the opportunity to observe the unique inhabitants of Vashlovani National Park – Kurtsiks.
It should be noted that in the current period, it is the breeding season of storks, therefore the movement of visitors to the Samukhi field is carried out with special care and by the instructions of the representatives of the protected areas.
Vashlovani Protected Areas
The Vashlovani Protected Areas is also known as the Vashlovani National Park. It is located in the eastern part of Georgia.
Furthermore, it is worth noting that the park was established in 1935. The main motive of the National Park was to preserve its unique shallow forests.
