The Minister of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia, Givi Mikanadze, was hosted by Batyr Mammadov, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan.
The Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia shared glimpses of the meeting on its official Facebook Page on September 1, 2026, Tuesday. The Georgian Education Ministry also shared a small note about the meeting along with its glimpses.
According to the small note shared by the Ministry, it should be noted that the parties discussed issues of strengthening cooperation between the countries in the fields of education and science. The parties emphasized the positive dynamics of the partnership between Georgia and Turkmenistan.
Givi Mikanadze introduced the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan to the ongoing reforms in the Georgian education system and provided information about planned initiatives.
The conversation touched on strengthening partnership between universities of the two countries, implementation of joint educational projects for young people, including the organization of bilateral youth camps, which will contribute to the expansion of youth ties.
The parties emphasized the importance of creating a working group to strengthen partnership and discuss various issues in depth. It was noted that the first meeting of the group will be held within the framework of the official visit of the Minister and his delegation to Turkmenistan.
At the end of the meeting, Batyr Mamedov thanked Givi Mikanadze for the fruitful cooperation and expressed his readiness to implement joint projects with the Georgian side.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia Zviad Gabisonia, Minister of Education of Turkmenistan Jumamirat Gurbangeldiev and Ambassador of Georgia to Turkmenistan Konstantine Sabiashvili.Â
