Chairman of the High Council of Adjara – Tsotne Ananidze and Minister of Displaced Persons of Abkhazia – Davit Facatsia met with the Georgian delegation and the Mayor of Athens – Harris Dukas.
Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara – Tsotne Ananidze, members of the Supreme Council, together with the Minister of Displaced Persons of the Autonomous Republic – David Facatsia, mayors of Tskaltubo and Martvili municipalities and other members of the delegation, during their visit to the Republic of Greece, met with the Mayor of Athens – Harris Doukas.
Ministry of Displaced Persons of Abkhazia, with the prayer-blessing of the Patriarchate of Georgia, in cooperation with the City of Athens, with the promotion of the Youth Agency of the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth and the Ministry of Adjara Culture, in the Republic of Greece (City of Athens) implements a project, which is for the refugees from Abkhazia from the International Camp 11 to 14 years old It’s considering adult participation. Among them are registered in Adjara, exiled young people from Abkhazia. On August 3-6, on the initiative of the Ministry of Displaced Persons of Abkhazia, meetings were planned with the participants of the international camp, as well as with the leadership of the camp. The meetings aim to deepen future cooperation and implement joint projects to support the refugee youth from Abkhazia.
At the meeting with Haris Doukas, attention was focused on the importance of multilateral cooperation between Georgia and Greece, on youth projects that are designed for future perspectives.
“This visit once again confirms the strong friendship and partnership that has been developing between Georgia and Greece for centuries. I would like to express my special gratitude for organizing and supporting the camps. This important initiative gives young people the opportunity to better understand each other’s culture, history and traditions, establish friendly relations and further strengthen the ties between our countries. I am confident that such programs will continue to play an important role in strengthening Georgian-Greek friendship,” said Tsotne Ananidze.
Mayor of Athens – Harris Doukas – talked about the prospects of cooperation between the two countries and the importance of youth involvement. He emphasized the necessity of continuation of joint projects in interregional relations.
Meeting with the Chairman of the Supreme Council of Adjara, members of the legislative body – Ramaz Jincharadze, Lasha Sirabidze, Mindia Diasamidze, the head of the Cabinet of the Chairman – Mamuka Kakabadze, Ambassador of Emergency and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the Republic of Greece – Levan Beridze, First Deputy Minister of Culture of Adjara – Lado Mgaloblishvili, mayors of Tskaltubo and Martvili municipalities – Genadi Bala Nchivadze, Giorgi are pieces, and other members of the delegation attended.
