The Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Mariam Kvrivishvili, and Head of the National Tourism Administration, Maia Omiadze, presented the representatives of the tourism industry in tourism and civil aviation sectors for the three quarters of 2023 as well as ongoing projects and future planned activities.
The Representatives of hotels, tourist companies, associations, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs participated in the meeting.
The meeting emphasized the development of resort zones and the strengthening of ski resort infrastructure. The deputy minister said that the country will host significant events in 2024, including the Ski World Cups and hosting the 2024 World Tourism Day.
At the meeting, Mariam Kvrivishvili said, “I am confident that with combined efforts, our country’s tourism industry will remain one of the fastest growing countries in the world, bringing more revenue from the tourism industry into the country’s economy.” Through close cooperation with the private sector, more jobs will be created in the country, which will positively impact strengthening the small and medium-sized entrepreneurs of our country.”
At the meeting, it was noted that in 2024, the National Tourism Administration launched an active campaign to promote wine and Georgian cuisine. An influencer activation project is also planned, where influencers will share their experiences about Georgia on social networks.
The Deputy Minister and the Head of the National Tourism Administration also answered the participants’ questions. They expressed their readiness to cooperate with the private sector and international partners further to advance Georgia’s tourism and civil aviation sectors.
The Deputy Minister also noted that Georgia ranked first in Europe and fourth in the world regarding tourism recovery.
It was noted that the Tourism Administration of Georgia plans to activate marketing activities in the tourist market of the European Union, Scandinavia, Gulf countries, USA, China, India and Japan.
In addition, next year, the National Tourism Administration will participate in 21 tourist exhibitions, organize digital marketing campaigns, host international media representatives and bloggers, and hold cognitive tours for global tourism companies.
Ten (10) events will be held to promote business tourism, including a large-scale forum, M&I Tbilisi in Georgia. Georgia will host the World Tourism Day in 2024.
