Georgia boosts youth cooperation with UN officials

The Minister of Education, Science, and Youth of Georgia, Givi Mikanadze, met with the Deputy Secretary-General for Youth Affairs, Felipe Paulier, in the United States of America.

The Ministry of Education, Science, and Youth of Georgia shared the glimpses of the meeting on its official Facebook Page on April 15, 2-26, Wednesday. The Georgian Education Ministry also shared a small note about the topics discussed at the meeting, along with its glimpses.

At the meeting, the parties discussed issues of strengthening cooperation for the development of youth policy. The minister introduced the activities and plans of the Youth Agency to the UN representative.

The parties paid special attention to the importance of the ECOSOC Youth Forum and the active participation of Georgia in the Global Youth Dialogue.

According to the details provided by the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia, it should be noted that the conversation touched upon the 2026 action plan and the study the Ministry conducted to assess the needs of the youth sector.

As the minister noted, supporting initiatives and engaging young people in important processes for the country is a priority for the Georgian government. To this end, the agency implements a number of important projects, including youth camps, grant competitions, and advisory boards.

Givi Mikanadze also spoke about international camps, which Georgia is implementing in cooperation with Azerbaijan and Armenia. According to him, Turkey will also participate actively in this project this year.

The Deputy Secretary-General for Youth Affairs thanked the Minister for sharing his experience and expressed his full readiness for future cooperation with the Georgian side.

At the end of the meeting, Felipe Paulier invited Givi Mikanadze to the International Forum, which will be held in New York in November.
