Tbilisi, Georgia: The Citizens of Georgia celebrated the event dedicated to Police Day in Tbilisi, the capital city of the Country on May 31, 2025, Saturday. The Ceremonial event was opened by the Minister of Internal Affairs Gela Geladze.
The event was organized by the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze to appreciate the works of the Georgian Police. He addressed the participants with a welcome speech.
In his speech, he congratulated the police officers and the staff of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia on their professional day and thanked them for the work they do every day to ensure the safety of the country and the peaceful life of citizens.
He appreciated them by noting that they were the first to stand up for the law, protect public order, fight crime, and keep each and everyone safe. This job, coupled with professionalism, requires extraordinary courage, dedication, and a constant readiness to risk even your own life.
According to him, Police officers’ activities are often invisible to the general public, but their results – a peaceful environment, protected citizens, and a sense of justice – are felt in their everyday lives. They are the ones who gave the greatest credit for the fact that today Georgia, as a safe country, is one of the most advanced in the world.
Irakli Kobakhidze stated, “Today Georgian police work at a higher standard than European and American police, which was once again confirmed during recent events.”
During his speech, he mentioned that over the past 4 years, the Georgian police have investigated 4 attempts to seize the sovereignty of Georgia and to overthrow the government. Suspicion of large-scale violence has not left any long-term traces on the health of any citizen.
PM Kobakhidze also expressed his special thanks to all relevant departments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for their professionalism during these events.
He also emphasized the important role firefighters play in caring for citizens and noted that they receive great love, trust, and respect in the community.
