“World Science Day for Peace and Development” is celebrated on November 10. The date, founded in 2001 under UNESCO auspices, aims to highlight the role of science in the everyday lives of global communities.
The Scientific Research Center for Agriculture ( SRCA ) of Georgia shared the glimpses of the event on its official Facebook Page on Monday, November 10, 2025. The Research Center also shared a small note about the event along with its glimpses.
According to the glimpses shared by SRCA, it should be noted that the theme of the World Science Day 2025 – “Trust, transformation and future – science we need for 2050. “
The development of agriculture is based on research; research that creates knowledge, generates innovation, and changes the farmer’s daily realities.
The Scientific-Research Center of Agriculture has been at the forefront of agricultural scientific activities in Georgia for 10 years. The Center unites 18 scientific directions, owns modern laboratories, greenhouses, and trial-demonstration plots.
The main objectives of the center are: search, protection and conservation of genetic resources of plants and animals; study and maintain the local gene pool of annuals and perennial crops, pets, birds, fish and agricultural useful insects; examination and evaluation of new species; production of healthy seeds and fertilizer materials; restoration of soil fertility and fertilization Betterment; promoting organic production, food Risk assessment in safety, phytosanitary and veterinary.
The Center is also working on the implementation of modern technologies for preservation and processing of agricultural products, development of integrated pest-diseases and weeds management systems, innovative and climate-wise models of agro-technology, and strengthening the certification and standardization of agro-food products.
In addition, the Center implements international and local projects through which it cooperates closely with research institutes, universities, international organizations, and farmer associations. Special focus is on increasing engagement among young scientists and farmers to deepen their knowledge and practical skills.
