Georgia: The Georgian Prosecutor’s Office has indicted one person on the illegal purchase and possession of firearms, military equipment, and especially large quantities of narcotics.
The Georgian Prosecution Service shared the details of this crime through its official Facebook Page on Thursday, October 30, 2025. It is worth noting that the police department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia conducted an in-depth investigation into this case.
Cause of charges
According to the investigation conducted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, it was established that the accused had illegally purchased a “Makarov” construction pistol with 24 pieces of shells and a “ARMINIUS HW22” model revolver with 4 pieces of shells.
Investigation also found that the defendant illegally purchased a particularly large amount, 0.6204 g. The drug “buprenorphine”. The Law enforcement officers seized firearms and narcotics while raiding the accused’s residence.
Criminal charges were laid against the suspect
The detainee is charged under Article 260 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, third part “A” sub-clause (illegal purchase, storage of large quantities of narcotics) and third part of Article 236 (illegal purchase and storage of firearms), which provides for imprisonment of up to 20 years or life imprisonment.
Notably, there is huge public support for the law enforcement agency for these drives to make the country crime-free, and it should also be noted that the Prosecutor’s Office will also apply to the court within the time limit established by law, with a motion to impose imprisonment on the defendant as a preventive measure.
