Georgia: The Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Mariam Kvrivishvili, met the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Georgia, Zhou Xien, on October 15, 2025, Wednesday.

The parties talked about the positive dynamics of the development of the strategic partnership between Georgia and China, including in the trade-economic direction.
Special emphasis was given to Georgia’s participation in the 8th China International Import Exhibition, which will be held in Shanghai on November 5-10. It was noted that the Shanghai exhibition is a good opportunity for Georgian exporters to be more active in the Chinese market.
It was emphasized that Georgia has been participating in the Shanghai Exhibition since 2018, and more than 120 local exporters have taken advantage of this opportunity. As said at the meeting, more than 40 leading Georgian companies will be represented in three pavilions at the current exhibition.
The meeting noted that both the Shanghai Exhibition and other bilateral economic activities will contribute to further strengthening strategic economic relations with China.
At the meeting, the parties also discussed bilateral cooperation in the civil aviation and tourism sectors. It was noted that the visa-free regime and the introduction of additional flights between Georgia and China have contributed to the growth of tourist flows. It also emphasized the importance of setting new directions and increasing frequencies for deepening bilateral economic ties.
Deputy Ministers Genadi Arveladze and Irakli Nadareishvili also attended the meeting.
