The Caucasus International University organized a NATO week on April 3, 2024 which was held on the 75th foundation anniversary of NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organisation).
The Caucasus International University’s Faculty of Social and Humanities and the Research Center of the University of NATO and the European Union jointly organized this “NATO Week”.
On the event’s opening day Tornike Parulava Director of the Euro-Atlantic Integration Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia gave a lecture on the topic of: “Georgia’s Euro-Atlinic Integration Process, Challenges and Perspectives”.
It is to be specifically mentioned that during the lecture the key speaker discussed the current issues related to NATO the policy of expanding the organisation ,the issues of Georgian integration with the European Union, and the opportunities and challenges on this path.
The meeting was held in question-and-answer mode where the key speaker answered the student”s queries on different topics. At the same time Irina Shamiladze, Deputy Director of the Information Center delivered a lecture about NATO and the EU while the acting Dean of the Faculty of Social and Humanities of the Caucasus International University Ekaterine Chalaganidz spoke about NATO’s future and challenges.
The event (NATO week) was moderated by Giorgi Pareshishvili, who is the Head of the NATO and EU Research Center of the Caucasus International University and also an advisor to the University’s rector. Meanwhile, a public lecture about NATO and the European Union was held during NATO Week with the support of the Information Center.
It is also noteworthy that public lectures and student roundtables will be held at the university for three days during the week. This has been planned to allow the students to share their thoughts and suggestions about NATO and Georgia’s relationship with NATO.
A significant number of participants were present on the occasion and learned about NATO’s future plan.
