Georgia commemorates Archil Tatunashvili on his 5th death anniversary

Tbilisi: Georgia commemorated the national hero 'Archil Tatunashvili' on his fifth death anniversary. The Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Garibashvili, paid tributes to Tatunashvili. Garibashvili wrote, "Today, five years have passed since the death of modern Georgian hero Archil Tatunashvili. With a heroic dedication to the homeland, Archil left an example of Georgian man's dignity, perseverance and patriotism for future generations.

Tbilisi: Georgia commemorated the national hero ‘Archil Tatunashvili’ on his fifth death anniversary. The Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Garibashvili, paid tributes to Tatunashvili. Garibashvili wrote, “Today, five years have passed since the death of modern Georgian hero Archil Tatunashvili. With a heroic dedication to the homeland, Archil left an example of Georgian man’s dignity, perseverance and patriotism for future generations.

Together with our community, I will once again honour his bright memory. The government is doing everything to bring to justice all the persons responsible for the death of Archil Tatunashvili.”

The Minister of State, Tea Akhvlediani, also honoured the memory of Archil Tatunashvili as she visited his grave at Mukhatgverdi Brothers cemetery and decorated his grave with a crown.

Tea Akhvlediani once again expressed her condolences to the family of the hero and expressed her full support on behalf of the government.

“Today marks five years since the horrific murder of a young Georgian hero Archil Tatunashvili, who sacrificed his most precious life, protecting the unity and dignity of his homeland.”

I would like to bow down in front of his memory and state once again that the torture and murder of Tatunashvili, as well as the worst consequences of the occupation in our country, for the gross violations of fundamental human rights, the occupation regime has full responsibility, and the time will come when they will be held accountable for the crime committed against our citizens, our heroes.

In the hands of the living the participants and definitely, our peaceful, consistent policy will de-occupy our country and unite war-torn communities,” said State Minister Tea Akhvlediani.

Notably, Archil Tatunashvili was a former Georgian soldier, who was tortured brutally by the occupation forces in the Tskhinvali. Moreover, his body was returned after removing his organs and more than a hundred injury marks were spotted over his body.
