Georgia: Within the framework of the population and agricultural census, the census of the population will continue on the basis of Kardakari from November 29. Data will be collected by Saxtat interviewees until December 19.
Specially for this purpose, Sakstat has prepared up to 12,000 interviewees. They will be patrolling door-to-door across the country to every residence on their working territory. Interviewees will use a tablet to question one or more adult family members and obtain information about the families and each member of their constituency. The average time to fill out the questionnaire is 20-30 minutes.
The self-registration technique of the population and agricultural census began on November 14. The deadline for self-registration was November 28. This approach has already been utilized by over 150 thousand people. To authenticate their involvement in the description, they provide the interviewer with the code they received from self-registration. Citizens who have not finished self-registration must have responded to the Saqstat interviewer’s questions to be included in the description.
The description by its scale and content is a unique source of information about the social, economic, and demographic situation of the population. The description will provide up-to-date information about the population, their gender-age structure, employment, education, health, livelihoods, and residence.
Along with the population description, there is also an agricultural description, in which information about the agricultural activity of households is collected. As a result of the description, data on the structure of the land, the number of livestock and birds and the number of bee families in the benefit of domestic farms.
All citizens of Georgia, as well as citizens of all foreign countries living on the territory of Georgia (who plan to stay in Georgia for more than 12 months) and persons without citizenship (who plan to remain in Georgia for more than 12 months) are obliged to pass the description.
According to articles 34 and 35 of the Law of Georgia, “About official statistics“, individual data is confidential and not subject to disclosure. Personal data about the respondent is kept according to the rule set out by the current legislation of Georgia.
