Georgia: Within the framework of the current cooperation between the Caucasus University (CU) and Leipzig University of Sciences (HTWK Leipzig), the program funded by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) has been successfully implemented.
Titled “Macroeconomics, Trade and Intercultural Business: Germany and the South Caucasus,” the program focused on enhancing academic collaboration and exchange between the partner institutions.
The Caucasus University (CU) shared the glimpses of the program on its official Facebook Page on Monday, October 6, 2025. The University also shared a small note about the program with its highlights.
The summer school was held in two phases – the first part in a remote format included lectures on the basics of macroeconomics (Bodo Storm) and trade policy (Tatevik Vardanyi), as well as intercultural business communication.
The second part was held in Leipzig and included learning sessions, practical works, thematic presentations, and educational excursions. Baccalaureate students of the Business and Economics Schools of Caucasus University (CU) participated in the program.
Notably, the summer school is an extension of the long-standing cooperation between the two universities, which also includes bilateral exchange initiatives and Erasmus+ mobility programs.
The program was led by Prof. Bodo Sturm (HTWK Leipzig) and Prof. Tatevik Vardanyan (ASUE – Armenian State University of Economics). From Caucasus University, the project was supported by Dr. Elene Jgarkava, Dean of the School of Business, and Ani Tavartkiladze, Deputy Director of the International Relations Department.
The goal of the project was to establish a strategic partnership in the fields of education and research — economics and business administration, business law, and intercultural communication — using Leipzig University of Sciences and two leading universities of the South Caucasus: Armenian State University of Economics (ASUE) and Caucasus University (CU).
