Tbilisi: As a large number of people fall under the vulnerable section of society in Georgia, many social and non-government organisations visit them to share happy moments on the eve of the new year and Christmas.
Employees of the customs department visited the vehicle with relief material. As per the information shared by the customs official, this is a small effort on their part to make the new year and Christmas more memorable for these families.
These families are not well educated, as well as economically weaker. Similarly, they are socially backwards, due to which they are still a vulnerable section of Georgian society.
There were ten to fifteen employees of the customs department who arrived on this occasion to meet these families. All of them were dressed in their uniform and looked very professional.
When they meet needy families, they spend a long time with them and also come to know the problems and challenges they face in their daily lives.
The customs department employees also assured them that they would forward their demands to the government representatives so that these challenges and problems could be solved as soon as possible.
The relief material included grocery items along with cooking oil, cold drinks, sweets, and christmas gifts for the children. The special chocolates and candies were given to children as Christmas gifts.The Custom employee also says that they are very happy to spend time with these families, and this gives them great peace of mind.
The social media handle of the Rustavi Services of Georgia took to social media. It stated that “ Employees of customs checkpoints “Batumi Port”, “Kartsakhi”, and “Poti” decoration economic zone congratulated socially vulnerable families with many children on New Year and next Christmas. Gardening officers gave Christmas presents and sweets to the little ones”.
In the end, the family members of the visiting people thanked the government representative of the customs department and said this was a great initiative of the employees.
