The Georgian Ministry of Defence has announced that it has hosted the exercise “Partner 2024.” This is a joint exercise of the different agencies to handle crisis and emergency-like situations in the country.
The joint exercise involving state agencies in crisis and emergency situations was held in the Khelvachauri, in the western region of Adjara. The main organizer of the exercise was the National Guard of Defence Forces. It involved a demonstration of measures against crisis management and discussed emergency situations that are often caused by floods, droughts, landslides, etc.
Members of the National Guard of the Defence Forces, Guard reservists, and firefighters from the Emergency Management Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs also took part in this joint exercise. To make the exercise more precise and real, the attendees established a dedicated crisis area along with a water wall. They used their skills to monitor the river, evacuate the local population who were struck by the natural disaster and also made efforts to safeguard the monuments of cultural heritage in the scenario of emergency.
The Ministry of Defence Forces has also added that similar exercises were held in Tetritskaro in southern Georgia with a large number of participants. It is worth to mention that the exercise involves the exeperts as well as observers from the Polish Territorial Defence Forces. The members of the Lithuanian National Defence Volunteer Forces and the United States Office of Defence Cooperation also participated in this joint exercise.
Notably the representative of the ministry of defense also said that this was a wonderful experience for all the members of different agencies. The participants during this exercise not just came to learn the new skill but they have also shared their personal experience that can be implemented in practice as well.
On the other hand the members of the different agencies who took part in this exercise have also shared their experiences. They termed the event a wonderful one and gave positive feedback.
