The employees of the Environmental Supervision Department of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture detected 40 violations of the law across the country within 12 hours of the opening of the migratory bird hunting season.

Georgia shared the details of the violations of the law across the country on its official Facebook page on August 23, 2026, Sunday.
Of the detected violations, 10 were hunting with prohibited weapons, methods or means, 4 hunters had not paid the fee for removing migratory birds from the environment, and in 10 cases, the violators were hunting in a prohibited place – the territory of the city.
Within 12 hours of the opening of the hunting season, the department’s employees seized 19 illegal means – sound devices for attracting birds, so-called manoks.
The
Environmental Supervision Department is further tightening control throughout the country during the migratory bird hunting season. Within the framework of the fight against poaching, such means as off-road vehicles – the so-called bugs, drones, photo traps, thermal binoculars are actively used. As a result of strengthening the capabilities of the department and introducing modern technologies into practice, environmental state control has become more effective.
The Department of Environmental Supervision calls on citizens to comply with hunting rules, and in case of detecting a violation of the law, to call the hotline of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture – 153 (without index, the call is free, anonymity is preserved), so that the relevant regional department of the department can respond immediately.
