Georgia: The Deputy Minister of Education, Science, and Youth of Georgia, Zviad Gabisonia, participated in the International Conference “Artificial Intelligence and Education: Trade Union Strategy for Advocacy.”
The Ministry of Education, Science, and Youth of Georgia shared the glimpses of the International Conference on its official Facebook Page on March 25, 2026, Wednesday. The Ministry also shared a small note about the meeting along with its glimpses.
The conference also served as an important platform for dialogue between policymakers, educators, and international stakeholders, focusing on the integration of emerging technologies into education systems while ensuring inclusivity and quality learning outcomes.
The Deputy Minister addressed the audience and discussed the growing role of Artificial Intelligence in the education system, the rapid development of technologies, and the new challenges facing the education system in this regard. He emphasized in this regard the already existing legislative regulations in Georgia and noted that it is necessary to create an appropriate legal framework that will ensure ethical, safe, and responsible use of artificial intelligence in the education system.
An international conference organized by the Free Trade Union of Teachers and Scientists of Georgia was held within the framework of the EU project – “Balancing Artificial Intelligence in Education”, which is implemented by the European Education Trade Unions (ETUCE) together with partner organizations.
The project aims to strengthen the capacity of trade unions in the face of the growing influence of artificial intelligence in education, to protect the rights and interests of education representatives at both national and European levels.
The event was attended by leaders from education unions from 22 countries to discuss research, challenges, opportunities, and best practices from European countries related to implementing artificial intelligence in the education system.
