Georgia: The Minister of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia Alexander Tsuladze attended the sports festival for schoolchildren, which was held in the country. Notably, the President of the Georgian Rugby Union David Kacharava was also present there.
The Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia shared glimpses of the sports festival on its official Facebook page on June 15, 2025, Sunday. The Ministry also shared some information related to the festival along with its photographs.
According to the information shared by the Georgian Education Ministry, it should be noted that Aleksandre Tsuladze became acquainted with the activities held within the “Diversity of Sports in School” Festival.
He addressed the present community with a welcome speech, in which he spoke with the participants about the importance of a healthy lifestyle and participation in sports events. The minister listened to the pupils’ opinions and answered their questions.
The goal of the festival is to introduce adults to a variety of sports and bring them closer to their sport through safe and fun exercises. Besides, building a value system in students that promotes teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship.
It is worth nothing that the “Diversity of Sports in School” is implemented by the National Center for Professional Development of Teachers of the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia, together with the Rugby Union of Georgia and it includes 150 public schools across Georgia.
The details shared by the Education Ministry also wanted to remind the public about the Sports Strand for primary school pupils in public schools, starting from the 2022-2023 academic year, which has been expanded to include “Tag Rugby”, a non-contact variant of rugby. The national curriculum of “Tag Rugby” takes into account physical education and sports standards, which develop physical qualities and basic technical skills among young people.
