Georgia: The First Deputy Minister of Environment and Agriculture, Nino Tandilashvili, visited the Tbilisi National Park and got acquainted with the projects of tourist-recreational infrastructure in the Park.
The Agency of Protected Areas of Georgia shared the glimpses of its visit to the Tbilisi National Park on its official Facebook Page on September 29, 2025, Sunday. He shared a note about the ongoing infrastructure works of the national park along with its glimpses.
The First Deputy Minister of Environment and Agriculture, Nino Tandilashvili, and Chairman of the Agency of Protected Areas, Besik Amiranashvili, inspected the ongoing construction works in the Sabaduri and Zedazeni areas of Tbilisi National Park and received detailed information about recreational and ecotourism projects in these areas.
The First Deputy Minister of Environment and Agriculture of Georgia noted, “The expansion and development of the network of protected areas is an important priority for the Georgian government. The Ministry of Environment and Agriculture, together with the Protected Areas Agency, is implementing important infrastructural projects in various protected areas.”
According to Nino Tandilashvil, large-scale tourist-recreational infrastructure is being built in Tbilisi National Park, which is funded by the state budget. “A comfortable and diverse travel environment will be created for visitors very close to the capital,” she added.
Notably, 2 large-scale projects in the territory of Tbilisi National Park are at the stage of completion, which means arranging tourist infrastructure in Sabaduri and Zedazeni districts. Specifically, in Sabaduri district, there will be a visitor center and an administrative building, parking, children’s entertainment and cognitive space, a network of 55 km long pedestrian paths with subsequent infrastructure; in Zedazeni district, in cooperation with the Municipal Development Fund of the Ministry of Infrastructure, there will also be a visitor center, pedestrian paths, panchatories, camping and picnic areas and a lot of facilities A mountain of shelters. The total cost of the projects is about 13 million GEL.
