Georgia: In order to share the best practices for implementing the 2021-2022 curriculum within the framework of the general education reform, a national summary conference was held, which was opened by the First Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Tamar Makharashvili. 

The deputy minister thanked the participants of the conference for their work within the framework of the reform and wished them success.

In his speech, Tamar Makharashvili emphasized the importance of cooperation and support in relation to the current and future issues of education reform and noted that the efforts of the school community are of special importance in this process.

The national conference was held online in the format of panel discussions, and 1114 school teachers, directors of public and private schools, and coordinators of the implementation of the national curriculum took part in it.

Within the framework of the conference, the members of the school community spoke about the achievements and challenges in the process of implementing the national curriculum and presented reports on all the priority areas envisaged by the general education reform. 

At the conference, school projects and complex tasks implemented in the classroom were presented in all subject areas. Such important issues as the impact of the school environment on the teaching-learning process were discussed; the role of parents in school life; The importance of a collaborative culture in the school community; the learning process seen through the eyes of the student; The importance of the assessment and leadership component and other subject matters.

It should be noted that the national conference was preceded by regional conferences, which were held in 68 educational resource centres across the country, where teachers shared their experience with the representatives of the resource centre in the framework of the implementation of the national curriculum. Their presentations proved once again how important complex tasks are for students’ involvement in the learning process, improving their results and developing school culture.
