Georgia: The Minister of Internally Displaced Persons, Labor, Health, and Social Welfare of Georgia took part in a panel discussion during an international conference on patients’ rights and competition in healthcare.
The Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons, Labor, Health, and Social Welfare of Georgia shared the glimpses of the panel discussion on its official Facebook page on November 15, 2025. The Ministry of Health also shared a small note about the panel discussion along with its highlights.
According to the Ministry’s note, it should be noted that Minister Mikheil Sarjveladze spoke about the importance of protecting the interests and rights of each beneficiary.
In addition, according to the Minister, competition is the main tool through which the quality of service can be improved permanently. As Mikheil Sarjveladze explained, to achieve this, it is necessary to actively cooperate with the healthcare sector.
The Minister of Health, Mikheil Sarjveladze, and Chairman of the Agency for Competition and Consumer Protection Irakli Lekvinadze, together with the representatives of the hospital and pharmaceutical sectors, discussed the current challenges and the issues needed for more effective cooperation in the future.

The International Conference on Competition and Consumer Rights Protection, which included a panel discussion, is being held for the fourth time this year.
The three-day event is jointly organized by the Competition and Consumer Protection Agency, National Bank, SEMEC, Insurance State Supervisory Service, and Communications Commission.
The conference is attended by the competition and consumer protection authorities of about 20 countries, as well as representatives of international organizations. The event aims to strengthen competition policy, broaden discussions on achievements and challenges in this field, and improve consumer rights protection mechanisms in Georgia.
