Georgia: The Minister of Internally Displaced Persons, Labor, Health, and Social Welfare of Georgia, Mikheil Sarjvaladze, met with the members of the commission, created to include drug addicts in the compulsory treatment process. The meeting was held on August 26.

The Georgia Health Ministry also shared a small note about the discussions held at the meeting, along with its glimpses.
As per the details shared by the Health Ministry of Georgia, it should be noted that the Georgian Minister of Health, Mikheil Sarjveladze, discussed various important things related to the health sector of the country. According to his statement, the main task of the state is to protect the best interests of the beneficiaries and to move them to the stage of remission.
As the Minister of Health noted, in achieving the ambitious plans set out, one of the important roles will be played by the effective work of the well-mentioned Commission, which is made up of high-ranking professionals, including: Physician – Drugs, Head of the Centre for Mental Health and Drug Prevention, representatives from the Ministries of Health and Home Affairs.
The Commission is considering placing patients in the mandatory medical unit, inpatient, based on the Center for Mental Health and Drug Prevention, which was recently opened.
According to Mikheil Sarjveladze, this is a clinical institution where a multidisciplinary team is involved in managing the process – narcologists, psychologists, therapists, doctors of other professions, and social workers.
As the Minister noted, treatment in the facility is carried out in accordance with modern clinical guidelines and international standards and is fully tailored to the individual needs of each patient.
The first meeting of the Commission will be held today, where its members will discuss important issues and agree on a working strategy for effective functioning.
