Tbilisi: The Ministry of Health of Georgia has started receiving applications for state funding for the treatment of children diagnosed with oncology in leading clinics abroad.

The partner clinics of the program are: “Anadolu Medical Center” of Turkey, “Chiron Salud Medical Center” of Spain and “Ikhilov Medical Center” of Israel.

The package includes diagnostics and a standard treatment course: chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and surgery. Also – proton therapy, depending on the needs of the patient.

The beneficiary of the program can be a person under the age of 18 with an oncological diagnosis (with the International Classification of Diseases (ICD) code).

To participate in the program, a parent or family representative must apply to the Ministry of Health’s receptionist and make an application on the spot, for which it is necessary to:

Fill out the application form (the applicant will receive the form for filling and signing at the Ministry of Health)

• Document confirming the identity of the beneficiary and the applicant (birth certificate/passport)

• Beneficiary’s health report – Form N IV-100/a, indicating the relevant ICD-10 and/or NCSP codes (translated into English, notarized)

• Answers to existing diagnostic studies (morphology, CT, etc.) (translated into English, notarized).

Patients will be assigned to clinics based on their individual needs, the clinic’s capabilities, and the patient’s family’s choice. Detailed information about the program can be obtained on the hotline of the Ministry of Health – 15 05.

The program of treatment abroad is a transitional stage in Georgia until the opening of the Children’s Oncology State Center, equipped with modern standards, and high-tech equipment, where a full range of medical services will be available in one space. The Georgian Ministry of Health is actively working in this direction.
