Georgia highlights culture as soft power at 2025 Ambassadors’ Conference

Georgia: The Minister of Culture, Tinatin Rukhadze, took part in the conference of ambassadors in 2025, working session: “Culture, education, health care, sport – soft power platform in diplomacy”.

The Minister informed the representatives of the Georgian Diplomatic Corps about the work the agency will do on international relations in 2025 and reviewed the major projects planned for 2026.

“The main goal of the Ministry is to position Georgia in the world as a crossroads of Western and Eastern cultures, a country with the oldest and unique culture, as a country where the treasures of Christian cultural heritage are preserved,” Tinatin Rukhadze said during his speech. He drew attention to bringing Georgian wheat traditions to Nuskha as the UNESCO Representative for Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity and stressed the importance of this decision.

As the minister noted, this year, the budget was funded, and 140 international projects were implemented in 40 countries of the world. A number of high-ranking meetings were held.

The minister informed the attending community about the project of the Levil Historical and Cultural Center, the Levil Georgian Academy, which the Georgian government plans to complete and inaugurate in September 2026.

According to Tinatin Rukhadze, in 2026, the Days of Georgian Culture will be held in Hungary and Uzbekistan, as well as, Georgia will be represented as an emergency guest at London Book Fair and Paris Book Festival; the country will be presented at the 61st Venice Biennale with the National Pavilion; tours of state theaters, orchestras and ensembles are planned and so on.

The minister talked about planned activities in the People’s Republic of China and emphasized the importance of close cooperation between Georgia and China.

Tinatin Rukhadze spoke about the project “Georgia Collection, which presents Georgia as the oldest heritage country. The Minister emphasized the importance of the active involvement of partner ministries, world cultural institutions, and embassies in this case.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Maka Bochorishvili, opened the conference of ambassadors in 2025. The Minister of Education, Science, and Youth, Givi Mikanadze, the Minister of Sports, Shalva Gogoladze, and the Minister for Refugees, Labor, Health, and Social Protection, Mikheil Sarjveladze, took part in it.
