Georgia: The Revenue Service Formation hosted an award ceremony for the employees of the Inter-Agency division in the economic zone of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia on October 1, 2025, Wednesday.
In the economic zone of signing, the heads of the agency honored 10 employees of the Inter-Agency division. They were recognized for their outstanding performance and high professionalism. Ministry of Finance of Georgia awarded them state special titles ahead of schedule.
Recall, as part of a joint search operation by the employees of the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Inter-Agency division for Passengers and Containers Control has discovered more than 50 million, especially large quantities, 200 kilograms of heroin.
Leaders applaud outstanding efforts
Minister of Finance, Lasha Khutsishvili; Head of Revenue Service, Irakli (Dachi) Beraya; and Head of Customs Department, Mikheil Chokoshvili, addressed the guests gathered at the ceremony event of the awards. During their address, the delegates emphasized the importance of the collaboration between the Inter-Agency unit and thanked every member involved for performing their duties graciously.
The Inter-Agency division, under the joint project of the United Nations Office for Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and the World Customs Organization (WCO) – Passenger and Container Control Program, the Customs Department was established in 2012. It includes the Customs Department, the Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance, the Central Criminal Police Department, and others. Deputies of the unpatrolled police.
Members of the unit simultaneously carry out coordinated control of cargo moved by sea, air, and land.
Notably, the joint division of the Container Control Program is also actively involved in the implementation of international sanctions. Over the last 2 years, authorities have seized over 570 kilograms of drugs. These include “Heroin”, and up to 3 kilograms of “Cocaine”. AÂ number of facts of violations of the law have been revealed, both in Georgia and in other countries.
