Georgia: Ilia State University set to host “astrolab” workshop for science students

The Ilia State University students of science have good news as they can attend the free workshop “astorlab” at Ilia State University  from May 15 to 18, 2024.

Main objective is to  provide a suitable environment for research to students who are interested in the stream of Astrophysics.  The workshop will provide a platform for the students to explore the best opportunity in the field of astrophysics.

The event will be addressed by Georgian and international scientists as well. This four-day workshop is supposed to become a stepping stone for students to reach new heights in the astrophysics field.

The language of the workshop will be Georgian as well as English so that students can understand the views of the key speakers without any communication barrier caused by language.  Although the seats are limited but the entry is free of any charge. The students in the 9th grade and above classes are eligible to participate in the event.

The key Georgian and international speakers who will address the attendees include the following:

  1. Adriana Pires, Center for Lunar and Planetary Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences, (China) and Leibniz Institute for Astrophysics, Potsdam (Germany);
  2. Roberto Turola,   from the University of Padua (Italy)
  3. Nino Chkheidze, Prof. Andria Rogava, of the  Ilia State University
  4. Zaza Osmanov, Free University Tbilisi Georgia

It is to be specifically mentioned that Dr. Adriana Pires is one of the leading observers in the direction of high energies. His discovery is considered a classic one and most distinctive, similarly  Professor Roberto Turrola studies neutron stars and black holes and is one of the most prominent scientists in this field in the world.

Georgian professors Zaza Osmanov, Andria Rogava, and Nino Chkheidze have contributed to the study of neutron stars and giant black holes. For more information on the schedule  interested students can visit the official website of the University.
