Georgia: The Georgian Prosecutor’s Office has indicted three persons on the facts of the illegal purchase, storage, and promotion of a large number of Narcotic drugs.
The Georgian Prosecution Service shared the details of this heinous crime through its official Facebook Page. The police department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia conducted an in-depth investigation into this case.
Cause of charges
As a result of the investigation conducted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, it was established that one of the defendants illegally acquired and stored a large amount of narcotic drugs, 302.96084 grams of cocaine (base), of which 83.62 grams were sold and stored personally for the purpose of facilitating the sale, and 219.34084 grams of narcotic drugs were stored at home.
The second defendant, convicted of drug offenses, illegally purchased and stored 7.1847 grams of a substance containing methadone (base), while the third defendant illegally sowed and harvested a particularly large amount of 1414.79 grams of a cannabis plant. He also illegally purchased 298.37 grams of dried marijuana, of which 4.43 grams were sold and stored personally for the purpose of facilitating its sale.
As a result of a search of the detainees’ personal and residential homes, law enforcement officers seized the aforementioned narcotic substances.
Criminal charges were laid against the suspect
The detainees were charged under Article 260, Part Three, Subparagraph “a” (illegal purchase and storage of a particularly large amount of narcotics), Article 260, Part Four, Part Six, Subparagraph “a” (facilitation of the illegal sale of a particularly large amount of narcotics, especially marijuana), Article 260, Part Two, Subparagraph “d” and Part Three, Subparagraph “a” (repeated illegal purchase and storage of a particularly large amount of narcotics), and Article 265, Part Three, Subparagraph “a” (illegal planting and growing of cannabis containing a particularly large amount of narcotics), which provides for a sentence of 20 years. It provides for imprisonment for up to one year or life imprisonment.
Based on the prosecutor’s motion, the court sentenced the defendants to imprisonment as a preventive measure.
