Kvemo Kartli Region, Georgia: The Georgian Ministry of Infrastructure has initiated several major infrastructural projects to benefit the educational, road, and sports sectors in Rustavi. All these projects were launched on May 14, 2025, on Wednesday.
The Minister of Infrastructure of Georgia, Revaz Sokhadze visited the region and inspected the ongoing construction works in the city. Along with him, his deputies, State Trustee Levan Kharabadze, his deputies, and Rustavi Mayor Nino Latsabidze were also present there.
Highlights of the new Infrastructure Projects of Georgia
In the near future barn 21 will be fully restored. The rehabilitation works at Rustavi Public School No. 6 are also expected to be finished by the end of the year.
The schools will have classrooms, sports courts and bathrooms, and a refurbished courtyard and new heating, water and sewer systems. Both schools will be made accessible to people with disabilities.
Under the state order “Construction-Rehabilitation of Kindergartens” in the city are built two new kindergartens. They are due to be completed at the end of the year.
However, the new grounds will feature bedrooms, playrooms and administrative rooms, as well as elevators and evacuation stairs. There’s a yard for recreational use and playground. Both kindergartens will be completely inclusive for children who are disabled.
And also the kindergartens No.23 for 200 and No.31 for 450 are being repaired. In the meantime, works are due to be completed this year.
The construction of a football technical center and two football fields has started in order to create sports infrastructure in the city. From the state budget, between 1-5 million GEL is earmarked for the project. The work will be finished this year.
However, a complete rehabilitation is carried out on the narrowly populated areas of the Rustavi-Gardabani-Vakhtangisi highway (8.6 km and 10 km), whose existing damaged roof made it difficult for citizens to move. Also, the complete rehabilitation of the 8.5 km damaged section of the Rustavi-Jandara highway is underway.
Additionally, it is worth noting that all these projects are funded by the state budget of Georgia and 38.5 million GEL is provided for the works in total.
