Georgia: Int. Conference held for Georgia-Danish partnerships

An International Conference took place at Akaki Tsereteli State University in Kutaisi. This was held to enhance the bilateral relation between Georgia and Denmark.

An International Conference took place at Akaki Tsereteli State University in Kutaisi. This was held to enhance the bilateral relation between Georgia and Denmark.

Josper Moller the UNICEF (united Nations International Children Emergency Fund) Representative participated in the International Conference on the Implementation of Successful Danish Practices in Georgian Schools for Future Development. The conference also aimed at exchanging experiences between educators from Georgia and Denmark about building human capital for the country’s development.

It is to be specifically mentioned that the conference gathered more than 400 teachers from around Georgia and the UNICEF Representative in his remarks highlighted the indispensable role of educators in championing child rights for quality and inclusive education in both countries.

UNICEF Representative during the conference also stressed the importance of amplifying the voices of adolescents and youth, empowering them to shape a human rights-based pathway towards the EU(European Union). Jesper Moller highlighted the importance of promoting digital and media literacy among young people as part of building their 21st-century skills.

As it is mentioned that this International Conference took place at Akaki Tsereteli State University in Kutaisi, where UNICEF has already initiated and established the first-ever Child Rights Center in 2020 to build and disseminate knowledge on child rights.

UNICEF Representative also highlighted the work of the seven Child Rights Centers throughout Georgia which aim to become knowledge hubs for professionals, communities, and most importantly for young people to claim and enjoy their rights.

Notbaly The Conference was attended by Deputy Minister of Education, Science and Youth, Tamar Makharashvili, and President of the Educators and Scientists Free Trade Union of Georgia, Maia Kobakhidze.

The Deputy minister while addressing the conference said that the role of educators to make the relationships between both countries are stable and stronger is important as well. He also said the strong and stable relation will make the countries influential at the international level.
