Tbilisi: Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili held a meeting with the trustees of the state. During the meeting,the officials discussed the projects that are planned to be implemented this year. The head of the Georgian government discussed about various new initiatives with the governors while assigning them some specific tasks.
As per reports, the Georgian Prime Minister was concerned about the status of the process for compensating the population which was affected by the earthquake in January. As it is known, by the decision of the Prime Minister, a sum of 19 695 000 GEL was allocated for the implementation of the liquidation measures of the consequences of natural disasters in municipalities.Ā
In addition to this, around 1,470 000 GEL was allocated from the Government Reserve Fund to compensate the population that was affected by the earthquake.
The Georgian officials at the meeting also discussed the process of the ongoing program, named “Renewed Regions”. As the ministers revealed, Phase 1 of the program has been completed nationwide, which includes the completion of 564 buildings, redevelopment of engineering networks as well as 92 public parks. The program continues in full swing , and at this stage, more than 400 million GEL have already been invested in the implementation of this program.
In addition, the meeting discussed the sub-program of employment promotion in public works, which was implemented on the initiative of the Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili. From March 1, 2022, to January 23, 2023, more than 30,000 socially vulnerable persons have been employed under this program.
