The Georgian Ministry of Education, Science, and Youth has launched a new project, “Public Dialogue on Inclusive Education”, which aims to develop and improve inclusive services.
The Ministry of Education, Science, and Youth of Georgia shared glimpses of the event held on its official Facebook Page on Thursday, March 5, 2026. The Georgian Education Ministry also shared a small note about the meeting along with its glimpses.
The Minister of Education, Science, and Youth of Georgia, Givi Mikanadze, opened the first meeting held in Tbilisi within the framework of the project. During his speech, he discussed the initiatives that have been implemented and those planned to enhance inclusive education.
“The development of inclusive education is one of our top priorities, as confirmed by several recent initiatives.” Among them, the Ministry established a Department of Strategic and Inclusive Development, an Inter-Agency Council consisting of representatives from different ministries.
The Minister of Education, Science, and Youth of Georgia noted, “At the moment, we have started the implementation of a new project, which will be held in the format of public dialogue and will be attended by representatives of the school community, parents of the pupils, and all stakeholders from all over Georgia.”
“We will listen to each one’s position, recommendation, and concrete decisions will be taken in maximum consideration of the best interests of children, “said Givi Mikanadze.
Within the framework of the project, panel discussions will be held with teachers, parents, and relevant field specialists in all regions throughout Georgia. The feedback received and highlighted needs will be taken into account by the Ministry in developing inclusive services.
The Deputy Minister of Education, Science and Youth, Baia Kvitsiani, Head of Educational Institutions Mandatory Service Pavle Macharashvili, Director of the National Center for Teachers’ Professional Development Ekaterine Khutsishvili, and other guests also participated in the event.
