The Representatives of the Agency for Refugees, migrants and Livelihood Provision held a working meeting. This meeting was held in the administration of the State Trustee in Lower Kartli.
It is to be specifically mentioned that within the framework of the Targeted State Program for Housing Multiple Families in Homeless, Difficult Living Conditions, this meeting was held.
It is to be added that the purpose of the meeting was to introduce the targeted state program for housing homeless, multi-family families in difficult living conditions, within the framework of which, by the decision of the Government of Georgia, the state will give new living spaces to 1000 socially vulnerable families who have three or more minors.
As per the information made public by the concerned authorities, the program will last until the end of 2025, and its total budget will be 50,000,000 GEL.
The working meeting held in Lower Kartli was attended by the State Commissioner Giorgi Dokhturishvili, his deputies Nika Kobakhidze and Kakha Koberidze/
On this occasion, the mayors of Rustavi, Gardabani, Bolnisi, Dmanisi, Tsalki, and Marneuli municipalities, Deputy Mayor of Tetritskaro Municipality, Deputy Director of the Agency for Refugees, Ecomigrants and Livelihood Provision Levan Dolidze, Head of the Assessment Authority, GI Orgi Mazmishvili and head of Lower Kartli Regional Authority, David Chokhonelidze were also present.
All the attendees agreed that there should be more initiatives towards better housing facilities for homeless families. They also agree that in case more financial aid is needed, that should be provided with immediate effect.
It is worth mentioning that the agency has done the necessary work in the past year in this direction. A large number of homeless people have been rehabilitated so far under the Various project.
All the attendee on the occasion share their views to make life better for these people. As housing facilities are considered the the basic and fundamental need of every family, it was highlighted during the meeting to provide better facilities to all the displaced families.
