The Georgian National Olympic Committee has installed the plaque in the memory of Zhiuli Shartava. Many dignitaries were present during the installation ceremony.
It is to be specifically mentioned that the Memorial plaque of the first national hero of Georgia Zhiuli Shartava was installed at the facade of the Seok building.

Today on the facade of the Georgian National Olympic Committee building on the initiative of Vakhtang Yolbaia, Chairman of the Center of National Unity-Juli Shartava Society and with the support of the National Olympic Committee of Georgia a memorial plaque of the first Georgian National hero Zhiuli Shartava was opened by the famous sculptor Levan Vardosanidze”.
Moreover today’s event was dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Zhiuli Shartava. Georgia’s first national hero would turn 80 years old on March 7. Speaking specifically on the occasion SEOK President Leri Khabelov addressed the public with a welcoming speech and spoke about the death of Zhiuli Shartava. Juli Shartava has worked in the current building of Seok from 1972 to 1980.
On the other hand, the event was attended by leaders of SEOK, representatives of the Abkhazia government, members of Jiuli Shartava’s family, members of the “Center of National Unity-Jiuli Shartava Society”, other guests, and media representatives also.
The plaque was looking very attractive . This was a black color plaque of the Georgian National Hero. Zhiuli Shartava is a famous Georgian politician he served as the head of Abkhazia’s government in the year of 1993.
He got a technical education in engineering and was later elected to the Georgian Parliament in 1992. His contribution to the Georgian political history is remembered as the golden years of the Georgian politics.
