Georgia: The Minister of State for Reconciliation and Civil Equality of Georgia, Thea Akhvlediani, met 150 students from different universities and vocational schools. The meeting was held in her office on May 16, 2025, on Friday.

Thea Akhvlediani addressed the students with a welcome speech and introduced to the youth both the policies of reconciliation and inclusion, civil equality and integration, goals, implemented activities, and vision for the future.
The Minister of State for Reconciliation and Civil Equality of Georgia spoke on the importance of increasing youth participation and role in both peace initiatives and the civic integration process. She briefed students on mechanisms and opportunities available to support youth initiatives.
Notably, young people had the opportunity to ask the Minister of State questions, express their views and opinions, in the format of a discussion.
The event was held at the initiative and organized by the Youth Agency. Vakhtang Baakashvili, acting head of the agency, participated in the meeting.
According to Thea Akhvlediani, it should be noted that supporting young people’s engagement and strengthening their role in the implementation of reconciliation and civil equality policies remains a priority of the activities of the Minister of State’s Office.
She added, “this is the purpose of our regular meetings with young people in different formats, including today’s event, during which we introduced to young people the priorities of further establishment and integration of multi-ethnic society of Georgia, as well as the peace process, which is being implemented in the temporary occupied Abkhazia and Tskhinvali regions. “
Additionally, there was a very interesting and dynamic discussion, which was more pleasant and welcoming. One of the main goals of their work is to promote and raise awareness of issues of national importance to the country and youth on issues that are relevant to the country.
