Tbilisi: The 29th session of the governing committee of the European Neighborhood Program ENPARD was held at the Ministry of Environment and Agriculture.The Minister of Environment and Agriculture, Otar Shamugia, headed the meeting of the committee.Â
 The Georgian minister thanked the EU for cooperation and financial support and stressed the importance of this program.
 “The European Union is a firm supporter of Georgia’s agriculture, rural development and environmental direction strengthening. We, with the help of the EU and donor organisations, have successfully completed three phases of ENPARD. Challenges remain many and I think that with a joint effort we can achieve effective reforms in the field and get closer to the European Union,” Otar Shamugia said.
 At the same time, the Deputy Minister of Environment and Agriculture, Nino Tandilashvili informed the participants of the meeting about the strategy of agriculture development, as well as the strategy of rural development and corresponding action plans Sky.
 During the 29th session of the ENPARD governing committee, the discussion was on strengthening the capacity of the National Food Agency, restoration of wind-wind lanes, effective management of pastures, expansion of protected areas, development of ecotourism, law Issues of the importance of getting closer to EU standards, future plans and activities.
 The meeting was held by the First Deputy Minister Giorgi Khanishvili with the First Secretary of the EU Representative Katalin German, the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the UN Development Program (UNDP) and the Samin Heads of relevant services of Istro marking their presence at the meeting.Â
