Georgia: National Tourism Administration Head held a meeting with tourism sector

Georgia: Medea Janiashvili, Acting Head of the National Tourism Administration, Beka Peradze, Head of the Labor Inspection Service and Nino Gvenetadze, Deputy Business Ombudsman, held a meeting with the representatives of the tourism sector, especially representatives of hotels and restaurants, to discuss the challenges in the field of tourism and ways to solve them.

Georgia: Medea Janiashvili, Acting Head of the National Tourism Administration, Beka Peradze, Head of the Labor Inspection Service and Nino Gvenetadze, Deputy Business Ombudsman, held a meeting with the representatives of the tourism sector, especially representatives of hotels and restaurants, to discuss the challenges in the field of tourism and ways to solve them.

“Our goal is to identify all the existing challenges together with the private sector, which may hinder the development of tourism in our country. The purpose of today’s meeting was to find ways to solve the challenges of active communication with the relevant state bodies. We have jointly discussed not only the challenges related to labour safety but also the challenges in the field in general, the solution of which is very important in a short period of time, “- said Medea Janiashvili.

“Today, a meeting was held with the private sector, where we discussed all the important issues related to labour safety and labour rights. The tourist season is entering an active phase; therefore, it is very important to realize the rights of both the employer and the employee and the necessary knowledge, challenges from us will be adequately taken, and appropriate decisions will be made, “- said Beka Peradze.



According to the representatives of the private sector, specific plans were made at the meeting, which will be implemented through active communication between the state and the private sector.

“We represent the Association of Restaurateurs; today, the” Horeca “sector communicated with the state services; we discussed various issues, the current situation, and topics related to occupational safety. We are going to cooperate actively. The problem as soon as it arises, we communicate, and the issues are resolved; it is a reality. We work with both the Tourism Administration and the Labor Inspectorate. Today we have progressed in the sector; the field is growing,” said Kote Gabrichidze, the founder of the Restaurant Association.



“Such meetings are very important; the more often, the better. We share our message with everyone, and such meetings contribute to the rapprochement and development of the business. The most important thing is that we address the problematic issues in a timely manner, and we hope that these issues will be resolved in a timely manner,” said Shalva Alaverdashvili, founder of the Federation of Hotels and Restaurants.
