Samtredia Municipality, Georgia: The Niko Nikoladze’s House-Museum of the village Didi Jikhaishi of Samtredia Municipality celebrated the International Museum Day with a special program. The event was held on May 18, 2025, on Sunday.
The event included diverse and interesting planned activities and aimed at promoting cultural heritage, particularly through the active participation of youth.
The mayor of Samtredia Municipality, David Bakhtadze, attended the concert event. Along with the mayor, the event was also attended by the representatives of the local government, representatives of educational and cultural institutions, local people, and guests.
It should be noted that the mayor addressed the guests with a welcome speech. In his speech, he highlighted the achievements of Niko Nikoladze. He noted, “Niko Nikoladze Museum is our pride – a place where history comes alive.” International Museums Day is another important opportunity for young people to dig deeper into our heritage and feel responsible.”
Mayor David Bakhtadze congratulated the staff of the museum, and he also expressed his heartfelt gratitude towards the participants of the event for attending the event.
At last, the Samtredia Municipality Hall thanked all the people involved in the organization of the event and emphasized once again the importance of supporting culture and education in the municipality.
Several outstanding activities were held during the day:
- Interactive presentation with QR codes: Visitors in museum exhibition spaces had the opportunity to learn information about exhibits preserved in the museum in different languages. An innovative format was prepared by the students of Samtredia Public School 11th, highlighting the importance of engaging youth and utilizing modern technology in museums.
- Thematic conference about Niko Nikoladze’s achievements: The guests and history teachers got to know the important pages of life and achievement of the great reformer and social activist Niko Nikodze.
- Concert Program: At the end of the day, guests were waiting for a musical performance, in which talented students of the Cultural Center, Pupil-Youth House, and Jikhaishi Music School participated.
