Georgia: Nino Tandilashvili meets German Nuclear Safety Minister Steffi Lemke

Tbilisi: The First Deputy Minister of Environment Protection and Agriculture of Georgia Nino Tandilashvili, met with the Federal Minister of Environment, Nature Protection, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection of the Federal Republic of Germany, Steffi Lemke.

Tbilisi: The First Deputy Minister of Environment Protection and Agriculture of Georgia Nino Tandilashvili, met with the Federal Minister of Environment, Nature Protection, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection of the Federal Republic of Germany, Steffi Lemke.

Within the framework of the working meeting, the parties held discussions on the existing relations between Georgia and Germany as well as the future perspectives of cooperation in multiple fronts, on which Steffi Lemke also expressed her readiness. 

 It was emphasized during the meeting that the two countries are linked by a reliable partnership. The meeting focused on the importance of Germany’s support in the process of Georgia’s integration into European and Euro-Atlantic structures. 

As the Georgian Deputy Minister Nino Thandilashvili noted during the meeting “Germany has always been a constant support of our country in strengthening the areas of environmental protection, which form a very important part in Georgia’s process of European integration.

Further, the First Deputy Minister stated that the integration into the European Union is the main priority of the Georgian government and it is making very possible effort towards the direction of completing this process.

 “Germany, as a strategic partner country of Georgia, has constantly supported and continues to support our country in strengthening the areas of environmental protection, which is very important on the path of Georgia’s European integration“, Nino Thandilashvili added further.

At the meeting, the first deputy minister spoke about the environmental protection policy of Georgia and the progress that already exists in terms of development of protected areas, forestry, waste management and introduction of environmental standards.
