A new page is being turned in the history of Georgian aviation. The $15 million investment project, Ambassador Aviation Village, will make a significant contribution to strengthening the local economy and fully utilizing its tourism potential.

The Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze gave a speech at the opening of the Ambassador Aviation Village. He emphasized the importance of the large-scale infrastructure project, which is being implemented with the support of the state program and co-financed by the Georgian Economic Development Corporation, and thanked the investors.

“A multifunctional area spread over 16 hectares with a high-standard airfield, an international-level flight academy, an aviation club and a residential settlement for pilots creates a very interesting space as a whole. This will significantly stimulate the local economy and tourism potential. What is especially important is that the project opens the international arena to our youth – high-class pilots will be trained here, and they will receive international-standard licenses. I would like to especially welcome the crew of about 30 experienced European pilots who have arrived in Georgia. Their presence here once again confirms how worthy Georgia is of taking its place on the international aviation map. I am confident that the Kachreti airfield and, in the future, the Batumi artificial island aviation space will create a unified network, which will take the connectivity and economic potential of our country to a completely new level,” said Irakli Kobakhidze.

The Prime Minister thanked all those involved in the project implementation, investors – Buba Keburia, Tornike Keburia and Ambassador Aviation Village, and wished them success.

The opening ceremony of the Ambassador Aviation Village was addressed by the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia Mariam Kvrivishvili, Director General of Ambassador Island Batumi Gocha Kamkia, Honorary Consul of Georgia in Luxembourg, Pilot Peter Sodermans and General Manager of the Aviation Village Nikita Raech.
Within the framework of the event, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Georgian Aviation University and the Ambassador Aviation Village.

The guests of the event also attended the air show, which was held in connection with the opening ceremony of the Aviation Village.
