Georgia opens new building for erisioni ensemble

The Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, together with Minister of Culture Tinatin Rukhadze, inspected the new building of Georgian Folk Song and Dance State Academic Ensemble “Erisioni”.

The Ministry of Culture of Georgia shared the glimpses of the inspection works on it its official Facebook Pae on April 29, 2026, Wednesday. The Ministry also shared a small note about works along with its glimpses.

The Head of Government inspected the infrastructure of the newly opened building, which is fully equipped with modern standards and will combine a 100-seat concert hall, dressing rooms, recording studio, and office spaces together with rehearsal spaces.

The Prime Minister congratulated the director of the ensemble Vano Chkhaidze, the artistic director Shermandi Chkuaseli, and the members of the ensemble on the transfer of the new building and wished them success.

The Minister of Culture of Georgia, Tinatin Rukhadze, noted, “140-year-old ensemble – ‘Erisioni’, which has done a lot for Georgian culture, already has its own building.” “Our government team has successfully solved this issue. Orderly infrastructure is one of the most important in the field of culture. Creative people need proper conditions, she counted.

The Culture Minister mentioned, “Erisioni” serves traditional Georgian art at the highest level, and providing a new building is a confirmation of maximum promotion from the state.” “I would like to note that this building housed not only the ensemble, but also the children’s school-studio of “Erisioni”, where there are more than a thousand students,” she added.

“When we say that the whole world should know Georgian culture rich with ancient traditions, this is the mission of “Erisioni,” and we are always ready to support, – said Tinatin Rukhadze.

The Prime Minister thanked Tea Tsulukiani, during whose ministry she started this case, and Minister of Culture Tinatin Rukhadze, for finishing the case. The new building is fully adapted for people with disabilities, and it was given to the ensemble “Erisioni” with lifetime benefits.
