The Georgian Minister of Justice, Paata Salia, as part of an official visit to the Republic of Korea, visited the Centre for Digital Governance along with his delegation.
The Ministry of Justice of Georgia shared glimpses of the visit on its official Facebook page on September 9, 2026, Wednesday. A small note about the visit was also shared along with its highlights.
According to the brief statement shared by the Georgian Ministry of Justice, it should be noted that the Georgian delegation learned about South Korea’s experience in digital government services, e-government, and modern technology.
It was also noted that special attention was paid to the technological solutions that make government services faster, simpler, and more accessible for citizens, during the visit.
During the discussions held, the Deputy Minister of Justice Tamar Zodelava said, “It was very impressive to experience what our Korean partners shared with us.” “Our cooperation must be focused on concrete results,” she added.
According to her, a Digital Governance Cooperation Centre will be opened in Georgia will be to allow Georgian and Korean specialists to jointly develop and implement new approaches and innovative projects.Â
A cooperation memorandum has already been signed between the Ministry of Justice of Georgia and the Ministry of Home Affairs and Security of the Republic of Korea. According to the cooperation memorandum signed between the two countries, a Digital Governance Cooperation Centre will be created in Georgia.
Furthermore, the centre will become a platform for practical cooperation between the two countries. The main areas of joint work include
- the development of a virtual assistant,
- digital identity,
- the integration of artificial intelligence into government services,Â
- other modern digital solutions.
