Tbilisi: Today, in the administration of the Prime Minister of Hungary, the ceremony of welcoming the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Garibashvili was held, and the anthem of the two countries was performed.
Granting EU candidate status to Georgia, territorial integrity and multilateral economic cooperation between the two countries were the main issues that Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Gharibashvili said And the Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orban first discussed face to face and then discussed in an extended format.
The talk touched on the important progress made by Georgia on the way to European integration. According to the Georgian Prime Minister, the government is ready to fulfil its obligations in order to make rapid progress on the road to joining the EU.
The meeting noted Hungary’s strong support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia, for which Irakli Gharibashvili thanked his Hungarian colleague. Hungary’s important contribution to the EU monitoring mission was noted here.
He emphasized economic cooperation between Georgia and Hungary and noted that trade turnover between the two countries had increased twice this year. The parties also talked about new projects and future plans in this direction, the implementation of which will further deepen economic relations between the countries.
The talk was about the need to work towards strengthening the Black Sea Union. It was hoped that with the more active involvement of European partners and European financial institutions, the full potential of the Black Sea would be fully utilized.
The parties talked about regional security issues. After the meeting, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Gharibashvili and Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban signed a declaration on a strategic partnership between Hungary and Georgia.
