Tbilisi: The Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Gharibashvili, on Thursday, met with the head of the US European Headquarters, General Christopher Kavoli. The Head of Government thanked the General for supporting the country’s Euro-Atlantic integration process and stressed the importance of the visit. The parties discussed prospects for future cooperation.
According to the Prime Minister, European and Euro-Atlantic integration, as well as the strategic partnership with the US, are the top priorities of the country and the support of allies in this regard is of special importance.
At the meeting, Irakli Gharibashvili clearly reaffirmed his willingness, continue to support and contribute to NATO’s efforts to ensure security in the Black Sea region.
The talk was about US support to increase Georgia’s defense capabilities and noted the country’s contribution to overall Euro-Atlantic security. It was said that over the past two decades Georgia has been actively participating in NATO international missions and is ready in the future to stand with NATO allies and other partner countries to support North-Atlantic security.
The conversation was about the ongoing war in Ukraine and the situation in the region. The Prime Minister thanked the US side for their strong support to the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the country.
